Un jheel si gehri ankhon mein ik sham kahin aabad to ho!
Us jheel kinarey pal do pal
Ik khwab ka neela phool khiley!
Woh phool baha dein lehron mein
Ik roz kabhi hum shaam dhaley
Us phool ke behtey rangon mein
Jis waqt larazta chand chaley!
Us waqt kahin un ankhon mein us bisrey pal ki yaad to ho!
Un jheel si gehri ankhon mein ik sham kahin aabad to ho!

Phir chahey umar samandar ki
Her mauj pareshan ho jaye!
Phir chahey ankh dareechey se
Her khwab gurezan ho jaye!
Phir chahey phool ke chehrey ka
Her dard numayan ho jaye!
Us jheel kinarey pal do pal woh roop nagar aijaad to ho!
Din raat ke is aainey mein woh aks kabhi aazad to ho!
Un jheel si gehri ankhon mein ik sham kahin aabad to ho!
